Why you need a breakup bucket list!

Creating a breakup bucket list isn’t just about cheering yourself up, It’s about having a plan to create a future you’re excited to live. Let’s face it, after a breakup or divorce, it can be difficult to imagine feelings like excitement and happiness.

But,

Just because you’re not there yet, doesn’t mean it won’t happen.


So what is a breakup bucket list?

It’s a plan of things you want to do now that you’re no longer with your ex-partner. They will help you heal, grow, and rediscover yourself. Think enjoyable trips, personal challenges, and lots of self-care!

Having just got back from Lisbon (something on my own breakup bucket list), I wanted to share some ideas so you can create yours:


Some ideas for a breakup bucket list are:

Solo Trip – Go on a trip by yourself, even if it’s just a weekend getaway.
New Hobby – Try something you’ve always wanted to do, like painting, dancing, or rock climbing.
Self-Care Day – Treat yourself to a spa day, get a new haircut, or buy yourself something nice.
Bucket List Activity – Do something adventurous, like skydiving, bungee jumping, or a road trip.
Glow-Up Challenge – Start a new fitness routine, skincare regimen, or wardrobe upgrade.
Rearrange Your Space – Redecorate your room or apartment for a fresh start.
Go on a ‘Yes’ Streak – Say yes to new opportunities and invitations.
Unfollow & Detox – Remove reminders of your ex from social media and declutter your digital life.
Write a Letter (and Burn It) – Express everything you feel in a letter, then destroy it as a symbolic release.
Try Something That Scares You – Face a fear, whether it’s public speaking, solo dining, or asking someone out.
